About the piece
A waltz by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Lauro (1917–1986), among the best known of his valses venezolanos for solo guitar. It sets a lilting South American waltz within cross-rhythms between three and two, a hallmark of Lauro's writing, at once graceful and buoyant.
