Luis Leite
Luis Leite is a Brazilian guitarist and composer, born in Rio de Janeiro. He trained in composition and classical guitar at the University of Rio de Janeiro, the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, and the University of Music in Vienna, taking first prize at both the Ivor Mairants International Guitar Award in London and the John Duarte International Guitar Competition in Austria.
As soloist, sideman and leader, his playing spans music of every kind, from Renaissance and Baroque to contemporary work, and from African music to jazz and Brazilian song. Solo recitals have taken him across Brazil and through France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, England, the United States, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Germany.
Every score in this shop is his own edition, engraved and carefully fingered so that players can bring these pieces to life on their own instrument.
