About the piece
A traditional English ballad of Northern origin, 'Scarborough Fair' sets a series of impossible tasks between former lovers and is built on a haunting Dorian-mode melody. Passed down orally for centuries, it reached wide audiences in the 1960s and translates gracefully to solo guitar.
