About the piece
A choro whose melody was written by Garoto (Aníbal Augusto Sardinha); Vinicius de Moraes and Chico Buarque later added lyrics, and the song was released in 1969. Wistful and songlike, it sits idiomatically on the guitar, the instrument Garoto himself did so much to elevate.
