About the piece
A tango brasileiro by Ernesto Nazareth, composed around 1909 and named for the Cine Odeon in Rio de Janeiro, where the pianist played between film screenings. Rooted in maxixe, it is bright and syncopated with a gently dancing lilt, and remains one of Nazareth's best-loved pieces.
